Bayside Swim School exists to make swimming lessons more accessible and affordable for families.
- We want children to have the same coaches week in, week out because trust and
consistency is important.
- We want families to feel welcome, consulted and involved in their child’s development.
- We want to provide personalised coaching to bring out their best in each lesson.
With these aims in mind, we partner with the School, P&C and the Swim Club to provide a schedule of lessons, stroke correction and squad for swimmers of all levels.
Through small class sizes and the same coaches week in, week out; we focus on individual attention and care, carefully staged development and just the right balance of challenge and support.
We look forward to seeing you and your family at the pool !

- how important is it that I teach my kids to swim early?
- If my child doesn’t start early will they be disadvantaged.
- I want my child to be safe, can you teach them not to drown?
As a parent of 2 boys AND a professional swimming teacher, I’m often asked questions about when parents should start swimming lessons. My answer to this is somewhat controversial – I tell them, most kids can’t really learn to swim until they’re 3 so trying to teach them before that can be a waste of time and money. Continue reading
It’s almost time to come out of hibernation and back to the pool.
Starting the season in the right class is really important. We’re holding assessments on Sunday 14th September at Wynnum State School pool. Whether you’re a family joining us for the first time, or returning swimmers, fill in our swim assessment booking form to register for your child’s time slot.
It’s again time to say good night to a hugely successful swimming season but with such a great talent base, it would be a shame to let the kids ‘go to pasture’, so this year we’ve introduced a Winter Swimming Program in partnership with Manly Pool.
This program is aimed at those squad kids who need a ‘maintenance’ program until Term 4 swimming starts again. For these kids we’ll be running sessions at Wynnum State School on Tuesdays at 5.30pm and Friday mornings at 7am for the first 5 weeks of Term 2. After this, our squad will combine with the Manly Pool squad for the remainder of the winter season.
For further information on our Winter Swimming Program or the Holiday Swimming Intensives, contact Matthew & Rachel via email: email@example.com or 0448 434 885.
That was some storm yesterday! We hope everyone, their homes & families are ok.
Everything is back to normal today though so we’ll see you at Many West State School this morning as per usual. See you there!
